This area is included in the section of Michigan known as the Sunrise Side, and East Tawas is a great place to stay if you want to explore the Sunrise Side region. There are many attractions located in the vicinity of East Tawas that are great for a family vacation, and this area is a favorite family destination for visitors from all over the United States.

East Tawas's main draws are the beautiful Tawas Bay, which is located on Lake Huron, and the Tawas Bay Lighthouse, a historic building in use since 1876. This 200,000 candlepower lighthouse has a beacon that can be seen for 16 miles out on Lake Huron. The Tawas Bay has many different beaches where you can relax, swim, boat and hike, as well as being a major point of bird migration, perfect for bird watchers.

There are several different East Tawas vacation lodgings you can stay at while on your vacation to Tawas Bay, and there are different styles of accommodations to suit different tastes.
